Restaurant/Cafe Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant or Cafe Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our restaurants and cafes, providing exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Food and Beverage Attendants to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a high-quality dining experience.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and increase customer loyalty.
  • Manage inventory, stock levels, and cash handling to ensure accurate financial reporting and minimize losses.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and achieve business objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to inform business decisions.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote our restaurants and cafes.
  • Ensure accurate recording and verification of team member time records and payroll.

Requirements:

  • 5-star hotel background as a Supervisor/Manager in a food service field.
  • Valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
