Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

This role exists within the Central Early Childhood and Families Service (CECFS) to provide occupational therapy services to children aged 0-4 years within a multidisciplinary team that also includes a speech pathology service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an occupational therapy service to children aged 0-4 years.
  • Assess and evaluate clients with a range of developmental delays by using standardised and informal assessment tools.
  • Prioritise and organise a large, complex caseload under limited direction.
  • Interpret assessment results to form an accurate understanding of the issues arising for the child and their family.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to plan, identify and address quality client management programs.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification, which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex and varied workload including individual and group work in the early childhood (0-4 years of age) field.
  • Knowledge of child development principles.
  • Experience working with the application of attachment theory to therapeutic individual and group programs.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable children and their families.
  • Knowledge of the social determinants of health and their implications for service delivery.

About You:

You will be based in an office location in North Adelaide, and see children at outreach locations: Lockleys Children's Centre, Parks Children's Centre, Woodville CaFHS, Adelaide CaFHS.

Salary:

$88,255 to $102,240 pro rata per annum.
