  • Support business leaders in identifying and implementing controls to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Seek legal advice when necessary to ensure compliance accuracy and update registers accordingly.
  • Stay informed about national and international regulatory trends impacting the insurance sector.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior Risk and Compliance Advisors to foster growth and performance.
  • Provide oversight and reporting on Risk and Compliance performance from senior management to board level.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend regulatory seminars and stay current on regulatory communications and trends.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Significant experience leading risk and/or compliance teams in financial services or regulated industries, with a preference for insurance exposure.
  • Strong strategic thinking, critical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent ability to simplify complex compliance requirements for practical application.
  • Proven experience in writing reports for Senior Management and Boards.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate, and manage diverse workloads effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards, Insurance Contracts Act, Corporations Act, and ASIC Regulatory Guidelines Membership in relevant professional bodies (desirable).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field (desirable).
