The Role

We are seeking an experienced litigation and regulatory compliance lawyer to join our team as an Assistant Manager (in either Brisbane, Sydney, or Perth) as part of our Legal Delivery Team. This role will support the Litigation and Regulatory arm of the Legal Delivery Team and will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a team of legal professionals providing cutting-edge technology to design and deliver routine or document-heavy legal services efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the team manager in overseeing a team of Paralegals within the Legal Delivery Team's Litigation & Regulatory Compliance arm;
  • Supporting the Paralegals in delivering a very high quality of work across document review services and also conducting hands-on document review when required as part of the team;
  • Ensuring the team is meeting required KPIs and deadlines;
  • Taking instructions from internal and external stakeholders as required, liaising with the stakeholders during the life cycle of the matter and ensuring that the team has adequate resources to meet the deadlines etc;
  • Acting as the initial point of contact in connection with any issues and escalating as necessary through the appropriate internal channels;
  • Ensuring that work is adequately checked and all quality controls are implemented and adhered to;
  • Appropriately training and mentoring team members as required;
  • Ensuring that the team has the appropriate manpower to complete all work in line with all required time frames and deadlines;
  • Conducting performance reviews for the team as required and in conjunction with the team manager.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent and admission to practice law in an Australian jurisdiction;
  • A minimum of three (3) years working in litigation and preferably large-scale litigation matters;
  • Experience working in document review and familiarity with any e-discovery review platforms including Relativity, Nuix, Canopy, etc.
  • Leadership and management experience (especially within a legal setting) will be very highly regarded.
