PhD Researcher: Unveiling the Complexity of Acinetobacter baumannii

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD candidate to join our research team at Griffith University. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on an innovative discovery-driven research project focused on understanding the diversity and evolution of capsular polysaccharides produced by the important multi-drug resistant bacterial pathogen, Acinetobacter baumannii.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on the molecular microbiology and genetics of Acinetobacter baumannii, including the handling of multidrug resistant bacterial pathogens.
- Apply genomics and bioinformatics techniques to analyze and interpret data.
- Develop and implement research projects that extend our understanding of key enzymes that determine capsular polysaccharides and the influence of bacteriophage in driving diversity.
- Collaborate with our research team to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Applicants must have a strong academic background in a relevant field, such as molecular microbiology or genetics.
