The Role

The Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO) Lead will establish and maintain standardized project management systems, processes, policies, and tools within the Portfolio Delivery department. This role will oversee high-level coordination and management across program and project management, ensuring governance adherence via controls set by EPO. The position will work closely with other leaders to implement a standardized system across all sections of the organization, delivering benefits to all sections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishing a repeatable operating rhythm representing Program and Project Managers.
  • Ensuring delivery of the Program and adhering to governance via EPO controls.
  • Owning financial and reporting EOM activity, preparatory execution, and closure of resource and financial data within tolerances set by EPO.
  • Supporting the Program Manager and Program Leads on budgeting and investment approval(s), coordinating moves from various gating phases imposed by EPO.
  • Engaging key internal stakeholders on capital approval, progress reporting, risk management, and governance.
  • Collaborating with the Program Manager and Program Leads to build plans and reporting tools meeting organizational, program, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Supporting governance meetings, preparing materials, administration, and secretariat.
  • Managing small sub-projects enabling the portfolio and team members to operate efficiently.
  • Promoting Delivery Services best practices and methodologies across the Portfolio.
  • Contributing to developing new ways of working through community forums and collaborating with PMO staff.
  • Ensuring assurance in project delivery, providing recommendations to improve delivery via management of risks, issues, dependencies, change requests, and value drops.
