Public Relations Coordinator Opportunity

The Melbourne Racing Club is seeking a highly skilled Public Relations Coordinator to join our Marketing team on a 6-month contract. Based at Caulfield Racecourse, this role will assist with the implementation of the Club's Public Relations and strategic communication strategies across major campaign periods, including the upcoming Caulfield Cup Carnival.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the PR manager in developing and executing the implementation of the 2023 Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival campaign, PR and content strategy.
  • Assist with the management of PR elements, including creation and distribution of media material, pitching and executing media opportunities.
  • Coordinate PR requirements with media partners to leverage the value of these partnerships.
  • Profile the stories and people of our sport in line with campaign periods and racedays to generate positive awareness.
  • Coordinate and execute PR and media activity for events, media launches, and racedays.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Professional Communications, Journalism, Media, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role or PR agency.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to take direction and work cooperatively as part of a wide team, whilst also being proactive and a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated networking ability and established relationships with media highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of key industry players and general racing knowledge well regarded.
