Senior Data Analyst

The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to lead and optimise data-focused work to provide improved service for the organisation and support strategic decision-making. This position is part of a multidisciplinary, collaborative team that works with teams across SINSW and NSW Department of Education to support infrastructure projects state-wide.

The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia, with nearly 100,000 employees across NSW in our schools and corporate offices. Our purpose is centred on the delivery of high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.
About School Infrastructure
School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will develop, implement, and deliver data, reporting and analytics across a range of educational projects and school learning environment initiatives to inform evidence-based decision-making. This includes combining data from multiple sources into useable models, and digitalisation of workstreams to streamline and automate the processes.
Requirements
The Senior Analyst role will suit a highly experienced person, with exceptional collaboration, stakeholder management and creative problem-solving skills. This role will suit an energetic, organised, and flexible person, who is willing to ask the right questions. You will have strong analytical skills and knowledge, your ability to utilise analytical tools allows you to provide sound advice and guidance to stakeholders on best practice. With excellent attention to detail you are able to monitor and manage continuous improvement, additionally contributing to the effectiveness of learning environment initiatives. You have demonstrated ability to correctly explain data analysis and outcomes into layman's terms and you have familiarity with Power BI and statistical applications, such as SPSS, R and Stata, with proficiency in at least one of those.
Essential Requirements
The Senior Analyst will have demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education. You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent workplace experience, and knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. You will also have demonstrated experience in undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis, reporting and evaluation in an educational setting. You will be able to work collaboratively within EE&P, as well as with teams across SINSW and NSW Department of Education to support infrastructure projects state-wide.
