We are seeking a reliable and proactive individual to support our kitchen team in an aged care facility. In this hands-on role, you will assist with the preparation, storage, and delivery of meals to residents, ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene, and service are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with meal preparation and presentation under the direction of senior kitchen staff, including modified diets catering to dietary restrictions.
  • Receive and store food deliveries promptly, maintaining correct stock rotation and temperature control.
  • Serve meals courteously, ensuring all dietary requirements are met and food is delivered safely and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate food safety documentation in line with regulatory guidelines.
  • Uphold workplace health and safety (WHS) and infection control standards through strict adherence to hand hygiene, uniform policy, and kitchen cleaning procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and promptly report issues such as pests, hazards, or equipment damage.
  • Support the security of kitchen facilities, equipment, and stock.
Requirements for Success:
  • Previous experience working in aged care would be advantageous.
  • Experience in a food handling role – preferred.
  • Experience in cooking/catering – advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of food hygiene and food safety principles.
  • Relevant certification in food safety.
  • Up-to-date vaccination against influenza and COVID-19.
