The Clinical Nurse Educator - Anaesthetic/PACU position is a key role within the NSW Health organization, responsible for providing coordination, delivery, and evaluation of clinical nurse education at the ward/unit level. This includes orientation and transitioning for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses, as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical supervision at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with the ANMC Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives.
- Develop and implement education programs to meet the needs of nursing staff, including orientation and transitioning programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of education programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that education programs are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide support and guidance to nursing staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Holds a relevant clinical or education post-registration qualification or 3 years clinical experience in the field of Anaesthetic/PACU.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles).
- Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment.
- Computer literacy and understanding of hospital information systems.
