The successful candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, with experience in leading teams and delivering complex projects. They will be responsible for providing technical advice to senior management and stakeholders, and for maintaining compliant work practices in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the City Planning team in the delivery of the new Local Planning Scheme No. 3 and a suite of local planning policies.
  • Provide technical advice to senior management and stakeholders on Federal and State Government initiatives, policies and opportunities relating to the strategic planning of the city.
  • Maintain compliant work practices in accordance with all relevant legislation, recordkeeping frameworks, and all other relevant Council policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in town planning or an appropriate equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in implementing planning legislation and processes within government.
  • Extensive experience in leading people, teams, including mentoring staff.
  • Significant experience in delivering local planning schemes and local planning policies in established urban areas.
