About the Role

As a Senior Planning Engineer – Asset Sustainability, you will play a pivotal role in developing strategies to enhance sustainability and resilience of infrastructure assets.

You will lead the development of capital projects and asset management plans prioritising sustainability initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into asset planning and decision-making processes.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of existing assets to identify opportunities for improvement in sustainability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Oversight of procurement processes for design services, defining scope of work, assessing proposals, and reviewing vendor submissions.
  • Review and oversight of service providers' deliverables to ensure they effectively tackle key issues offering efficient solutions that align with project goals and are completed within the agreed time and budget.
  • Leadership of the design process, supervising concept, preliminary, and detail design stages for asset renewals, improvements, and expansions prior to implementation.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Experience in Process Control.
  • Current active RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position or working towards RPEQ registration able to obtain within 12 months of commencing employment.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in asset management, infrastructure planning, or related field.
  • Proven experience in planning and evaluating complex infrastructure projects producing high-quality planning reports, design deliverables, or business cases.
