General Manager Role

A dynamic leader is required to lead our residential aged care facility, ensuring exceptional resident-focused care and operational excellence. The General Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, personnel, and compliance matters, driving continuous improvement through audits and quality systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of exceptional care and support services in accordance with organisational goals and aged care standards
  • Promote the facility to potential residents and their families with warmth and professionalism
  • Ensure operational compliance with the Aged Care Act 1997, Quality Standards, and organisational policies
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits, quality systems, and accreditation readiness
  • Manage financial performance to meet approved budgets and funding objectives
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to multidisciplinary staff, fostering a culture of care, integrity, and collaboration
  • Ensure mandatory reporting and documentation is completed with timeliness and accuracy
  • Represent the facility in internal strategy and external partnerships, including health professionals and community services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing (Registered Nurse)
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in residential aged care
  • Sound knowledge of aged care legislative frameworks, funding, and accreditation standards
  • Strong clinical skills in line with current best practice
  • Proven leadership and people management experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Financial management, budgeting, and rostering expertise
  • Experience leading through organisational change
