High-Performing Database Administrator Needed

Job Description:

As a seasoned PostgreSQL Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance database systems. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless data availability, integrity, and security across various environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure PostgreSQL instances on various platforms, including cloud environments.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor database performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to maintain optimal query response times.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and execute comprehensive backup strategies to ensure data can be restored in case of emergencies, including testing recovery procedures.
  • Security Management: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data, including user access controls, encryption, and audit logging.
  • Schema Design and Management: Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas, create tables, indexes, views, and triggers.
  • Data Integrity and Consistency: Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, ensure data quality through validation checks and data cleansing processes.
  • Patching and Upgrades: Apply PostgreSQL updates and patches to maintain compatibility and security.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Investigate and resolve database-related issues reported by application teams, provide technical support.

  • Proven experience with PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Excellent knowledge of database design principles and schema optimization techniques.
