Cost Control Specialist for Major Projects

We are currently in search of Project Accountants/Cost Controllers to support significant Lithium initiatives across Western Australia.
We offer a variety of work arrangements, including DIDO 5:2 (Monday to Friday), FIFO 2:1 rosters, and Perth-based options, accompanied by competitive salary packages, site uplifts, and performance bonuses.
These prestigious, multi-disciplinary projects present long-term career opportunities (2+ years) where you will play a crucial role in driving project success. Your involvement will span the entire project lifecycle, from initial startup through to on-site construction and project closeout.
As a Project Accountant/Cost Controller, your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing project accounting functions, including cost management, progress claims, and the development of project budgets and forecasts.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Analyzing financial data related to projects and offering insights for cost efficiency and savings.
- Conducting cost control and evaluating earned value against shortfalls.
- Collaborating with project managers to guarantee precise project forecasting and reporting.
- Coordinating with corporate accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for projects.
- Reviewing and approving invoices, expenses, and payments related to projects.
- Preparing monthly management reports and presenting findings to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or a related field.
- On-site experience in large construction projects or with mining contractors is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in project accounting software and ERP systems.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
