Job Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Producer to join our team in Sydney.

This fast-paced role is responsible for implementing and executing a social media strategy for the '9News' brand and working with the 9News Sydney team to contribute and integrate social media content into daily news.

The key objectives of this role include improving audience engagement and reach, producing social content, and developing insights/reports to shape ongoing social media strategy.

  • Executing social media strategy for the '9News' brand including all relevant accounts, channels, tone of voice, frequency of communication, and moderation.
  • Management of all social media platforms associated with 9News.
  • Working with producers and reporters in the creation and publication of relevant, original, shareable, and high-quality content.
  • Maximizing audience social media reach and engagement for 9News content.
  • Maximizing referral traffic to relevant digital assets.
  • Maintaining community management and moderation standards as per network strategy.
  • Implementation of brand social media marketing campaigns.
  • Developing and proactively sharing insights/reports with Head of Social, relevant 9News staff, and the broader Social, Video, Editorial, and Marketing teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have the following qualities, skills, and experience:

  • Well-rounded knowledge of all social media platforms, including emerging social and marketing trends; practical experience working with Social Media platforms for a large-scale business or brand preferable.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills, including excellent use of correct spelling and grammar.
  • Well-developed, practical experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Prior experience in broadcast news and/or digital news is preferred.
  • Must have genuine interest in daily news and current affairs.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of content and audience sentiment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
