About the Role

City of Parramatta is seeking a skilled Relief Operator to join our team on a 6-month term contract. As a Relief Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the appearance of our public domain, promoting Parramatta as Australia's next great city.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections of the public domain and assets to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement effective work practices in line with industry standards for waste and cleansing services.
  • Operate high-pressure cleaning units, mechanical street sweepers, and garbage rear-loading compactors to maintain a clean and safe public environment.
  • Previous experience in operating heavy machinery and equipment is highly desirable.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a similar role and operational environment.
  • Competent understanding of small and heavy plant operations applicable to cleansing services.
  • Current NSW MR Driver's license.
  • White Card.
  • Current (TCR, IMP) traffic controller certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Chemical application Chem Use AQF3 certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role and area of specialisation.
  • Proven ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
What's on Offer:
  • This is a 6-month term contract opportunity.
  • Salary: Grade 3 in Council's Salary Structure from $63,897 to $70,362 plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Additional shift penalties and allowances may apply in accordance with the Local Government Award 2023.
