Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Art Crater and Packer to join our team in the fine art shipping sector.

This exciting opportunity involves constructing bespoke crates and ensuring the safe transport of valuable artwork and museum objects.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in art crating and construction, with a proven track record of packing, handling, and installing museum objects and artwork.

They will be physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks, with proficiency in using various woodworking and machining equipment.

The successful candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to interpret technical drawings and job specifications.

Additionally, they will have a clear police record for visa purposes and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Constructing high-quality crates to precise specifications, meeting industry standards.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and job sheets to ensure accurate production.
  • Designing and adapting crating structures to provide optimal protection, considering pressure points and handling needs.
  • Operating woodworking machinery, including routers, saws, and planers.
  • Fitting and securing crate components, support structures, and mounting materials.

You will work closely with our team to ensure that all artwork and museum objects are safely transported and installed, adhering to strict quality control measures.
