As a Vessel Operations Manager with SeaLink K'gari (Fraser Island), you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessel. This includes coordinating the loading and unloading of passengers and vehicles, managing the vessel's supplies, equipment, and tools, and performing scheduled and general ship maintenance duties.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced team environment and possess strong communication skills. They will also have a valid Queensland RSA and a driver's license.

We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a attractive remuneration package, we provide ongoing training opportunities to support your professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel Safety: Ensure the highest levels of customer service standards are maintained at all times. Foster customer engagement by actively seeking feedback and implementing improvements to enhance the customer experience.
  • Maintenance Management: Manage and maintain the vessel's supplies, equipment, and tools, ensuring timely stocking, rotation, and replacement.
  • Ship Maintenance: Perform scheduled and general ship maintenance duties, including painting, deck work, and general labor.
  • Crew Support: Assist other crew members in cleaning and presenting the vessel, including public areas, decks, storage and engine spaces, onshore facilities, and between sailings.

Requirements:

  • Essential Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Independent and proactive in taking ownership of tasks. Flexible and adaptable, able to handle short-notice shifts and changes. Skilled in managing challenging situations with a calm and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Qualifications: Valid Queensland RSA and a driver's license. Drivers Licence. Experience working in a fast-paced team to reach goals.
