About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HSEQ Specialist to lead our Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality strategies. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our HSEQ management plans, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement, assess, and refine our HSEQ management plans, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with our business goals, vision, and mission.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement, develop relevant documents, systems, and programs, and provide training to operational teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Reporting & Communication: Report on safety metrics, draft professional correspondence for regulatory agencies and senior management, and lead the ongoing enhancement of our Total Quality Management Systems.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Drive effective incident and risk management processes, including timely reporting, investigation, and corrective action implementation.
  • Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with our standards and ISO accreditation requirements, and manage third-party audits and certifications.
  • Training & Development: Collaborate with our Learning and Development team to create and deliver workshops on safety program topics.
Stakeholders
  • External: Government bodies, contractors, consultants, and acquiring businesses.
  • Internal: Executive and senior leadership teams, service delivery managers, finance managers, and asset & procurement teams.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or substantial relevant experience.
  • Experience: Proven track record as an HSEQ leader with significant senior-level experience.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of legislation relevant to port/rail operations.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
