Blacktown Workers Club is seeking friendly, experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our maintenance team on a casual basis.

About the Role...

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with responses to maintenance requests to ensure group buildings and properties are functional and in good repair, meeting government and environmental standards.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with weekly maintenance schedules and allocating work.
  • General repairs, painting, cleaning, furniture relocation and assembly, fixing leaking taps, changing light bulbs, assisting with holding a ladder.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of outside spaces, ensuring high standards of presentation.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of plant equipment and supplies to meet Australian Standards.
  • Engaging subcontractors and ensuring relevant documentation and safety processes have been documented in line with the WHS Act.
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS policy, safety procedures and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications">

  • Proven experience in maintenance or a similar role, with at least 6 months of experience.
  • Able to work with a high level of autonomy, follow directions and be a team player.
  • Able to use hardware tools and power equipment safely.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of legislative requirements, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
  • Current full driver's license.
  • Understanding of safe manual handling practices.
  • Will to undergo a pre-employment medical and police check.
