Assistant Director Position Summary

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team of educators to drive continuous improvement in centre operations.

  • This role involves collaborating with the dedicated leadership team to achieve high-quality early learning outcomes and build respectful relationships with families and the local community.
About This Role

As Assistant Director, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing the skills of your colleagues, supporting the Centre Director in leadership decisions, and ensuring that centre operations are running smoothly in their absence.

  • This role requires the use of the Goodstart Practice Guide and actively contributing to the development of the centre's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting the Centre Director in leading the team to provide high-quality early learning and care services
  • Mentoring and developing the capabilities of the centre team members
  • Managing the overall operation of the centre in the Centre Director's absence
  • Using and implementing the Goodstart Practice Guide

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved)
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one
  • Hold a current Police Check or be willing to obtain one upon request
  • Substantial experience as a Senior Educator or in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a float position and mentor and build capabilities within the centre team by providing hands-on support, sharing best practice, and fostering professional growth.
