About the Role

The Operations Consultant will play a key role in assisting clients with site operations, including optimization, and will be responsible for undertaking site safety inspections, safety systems reviews, and audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface operations management, surface extraction, or equivalent engineering qualifications, as well as relevant health and safety qualifications or demonstrated experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake review of client quarry operations to assist with site operations including optimization
  • Undertake site safety inspections including safety systems reviews and audits
  • Preparation of safety system documentation – SWMS, Risk Assessments, Standard Operating Procedures
  • Report writing and documentation
  • Support Technical Director – Resources and Operations in the delivery of projects
  • Manage key client relationships and understand client needs and services
  • Preparation of fee estimates
  • Meeting project deadlines
  • Assist clients in matters relating to regulatory requirements and notices
  • Provision of advice to clients where applicable on technical and operational matters relating to the quarry and extractive industry
Requirements
  • RII50120 Diploma of Surface Operations Management/Surface Extraction or equivalent Engineering qualifications
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualifications or demonstrated experience
  • Relevant legislative knowledge of the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 and Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Regulation 2017 and Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013
  • Site Senior Executive Notice (Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999) is desirable
  • A minimum of years' experience in operation of mining and quarrying equipment including HME and crushing and screening plant
  • Experience in Risk Management and Assessments
  • Safety and Auditing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Resources, Quarry and Extractive Industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
