We are seeking a skilled and driven Social Worker to contribute to the important work of our Student Support Services (SSS) teams in supporting schools to address the barriers that impact on student(s) access, preparation, and progress to achieving their educational goals and development potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to access their education.
- Provide a range of social work supports to school-aged students to improve student learning.
- Liaise effectively with a range of people in the education community and beyond.
Requirements:
- A graduate or post-graduate degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Eligibility for membership of AASW.
- A valid Working with Children Check and full Drivers' License is required for this position.
- Ability to work flexibly, as Student Support Services is a front-line service requiring rapid response.

The Department of Education and Training is responsible for supporting Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. We achieve this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.
About the Division
Schools and Regional Services comprises 17 Areas within four regions across the state, as well as 5 central Divisions. Student Support Services (SSS) comprise the Allied Health professions of psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, occupational therapists and behaviour analysts.
SSS Staff
SSS staff are part of an Area based multi-disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team and, together with the Area school improvement team, help build the capability of schools to support student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing.
