As a key leader in our organisation, you will play a pivotal role in driving a culture of safety across the board.
Job DescriptionThe Work Health Safety Manager will be responsible for leading and implementing our integrated safety management system. This includes overseeing the continuous improvement of our Safety Management Plan, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
You will lead risk assessments and hazard management to prevent workplace injuries and incidents, working closely with senior leaders, injury management, and customer safeguarding teams to achieve strategic safety goals.
In addition, you will provide coaching and training to staff at all levels to manage WHS responsibilities and represent WHS on key committees to ensure safety initiatives align with organisational goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Substantial experience in safety management, ideally in the human services sector.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive change through effective communication.
- Analytical and results-driven approach, with the ability to analyse trends, identify safety opportunities, and deliver meaningful reports.
- Leadership skills to motivate and inspire teams to meet goals and implement best practices.
- Expert knowledge of WHS legislation, incident management, and safety practices in complex environments.
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety (or relevant qualification/experience).
- Experience within a senior leadership WHS role.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (paid) or willingness to obtain.
- Current Working with Children Check (paid) or willingness to obtain.
- Full working rights in Australia.
