Job Opportunity: Lead Multidisciplinary Design Team

About the Role:

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary design team to deliver high-quality technical projects on time, ensuring alignment and integration of design solutions.

  • Liaise with client, internal and external teams, and construction partners to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures using robust tracking systems to optimise budgets and prevent overruns.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards through effective QA processes.
  • Direct primary & secondary design, conduct design reviews, and collaborate with external consultants on electrical studies.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations).
  • Primary design engineering experience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering).
  • CPEng or working towards it.
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia).
