Welcome to Databricks, a cutting-edge company that empowers businesses with data-driven insights. We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Cloud Data Architect to join our team.

This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of cloud architecture, data engineering, and analytics. As a Pre-sales Sr. Solutions Architect, you will guide the technical evaluation phase in a hands-on environment throughout the sales process. You will be a technical advisor internally to the sales team, and work with the product team as an advocate of your customers in the field. Your primary responsibility will be to help our customers achieve tangible data-driven outcomes through the use of our Data Intelligence Platform, helping data teams complete projects and integrate our platform into their enterprise Ecosystem.

The impact you will have:

  • You will be a Big Data expert on aspects of architecture and design on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Lead your prospects through evaluating and adopting Databricks, providing them with customized solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Support your customers by authoring reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications, showcasing the capabilities of our platform.
  • Integrate Databricks with 3rd-party applications to support customer architectures, ensuring seamless data flow and efficient processing.
  • Engage with the technical community by leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups, sharing your expertise and promoting industry best practices.
  • Together with your Account Executive, you will form successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory to provide technical and business value.

About the role:

  • We are looking for someone with pre-sales or post-sales experience working with external clients across various industry markets.
  • A strong understanding of customer-facing pre-sales or consulting roles with a core strength in Data Engineering and Cloud Architecture is advantageous.
  • Experience demonstrating technical concepts, including presenting and whiteboarding, is essential.
  • Familiarity with designing and implementing architectures within public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is crucial.
  • Proficiency in Big Data technologies, including Apache SparkTM , AI, Data Science, Data Engineering, Hadoop, Cassandra, and others, is required.
  • Fluent coding experience in Python or Scala implementing Apache SparkTM, Java is necessary.
  • Experience with Data Science and related technologies (R and various algorithms) would be a plus.
