Legal Graduate Opportunity

We seek graduates who are forward-thinking and bring innovative ideas to the table.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must have a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree.

You also need a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice or be eligible to obtain one following commencement, and a weighted average mark of 60 or above.

If you have either degree, you can apply for both our legal and generalist streams. We'll try to match you in the legal stream first.

Once selected, you'll stay in the legal stream for the duration of the program.

Range of Work

Our organization has one of the largest in-house legal teams in the Commonwealth. The Legal Services Division includes over 90 dedicated lawyers and operational staff.

This team operates in various practice areas, including:

  • In-House Legal Advice
  • Specialised Legal Advice
  • Commercial Law
  • Employment Law
  • Privacy and Freedom of Information Claims
  • Litigation and Advocacy

As a graduate in the legal stream, you'll complete 3 rotations within the Legal Services Division.

This opportunity is designed to give you a broad knowledge of the legal issues faced by our organization and the APS.

We support graduates by providing financial assistance to complete their Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, practical legal training, and admission as an Australian lawyer.
