Disablement Support Worker Role Overview 

As a Disablement Support Worker, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives. Your primary role will be to provide person-centred care and support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independently and thrive within their communities.

About the Job
  • Provide high-quality personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, promoting dignity and independence at all times.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as hygiene, grooming, and mobility support, ensuring they maintain optimal health and wellbeing.
  • Support clients with domestic tasks, including meal preparation and light housekeeping, to help them lead fulfilling lives.
  • Encourage clients' independence, dignity, and personal choice in accordance with individual care plans, respecting their autonomy at all times.
  • Assist with medication administration and monitor clients' health and wellbeing, providing reassurance and comfort when needed.

You'll also facilitate participation in community and recreational activities, fostering social connections and a sense of belonging among clients. Additionally, you'll collaborate with families, carers, and other service providers to ensure holistic care and support.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or similar (or currently studying Nursing)
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and valid Police Check
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
  • COVID-19 vaccinations (as per government regulations)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
