About the Role:

We seek a skilled Senior Wintel Engineer to join our team in a key technical role. The successful candidate will maintain and develop our clients' on-premises infrastructure and applications, ensuring the availability and security of their services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain on-premise infrastructure services, providing technical guidance during new technology initiatives
  • Collaborate with a team as a specialist to support end-users
  • Work within established processes to release verified and validated enhancements, eliminating problems and proactively developing the service
  • Recognize opportunities to improve performance against Service Level agreements and act as a point of escalation for team members to resolve service delivery issues
  • Work under the guidance of the project manager to implement technical designs and meet service delivery requirements
  • Take ownership of diagnosing and resolving complex problems, escalating or gaining support where necessary
  • Analyse trends and reports to resolve problems, maintain, and enhance service

Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Experience in Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Windows Update Services, and TCP/IP
  • Experience in virtualisation technologies, dependencies, and management tools such as Hyper-V, Switch Embedded Teaming, Failover Cluster Manager, and SC-VMM
  • Experience in load balancing technologies such as Kemp
  • Experience in Storage Management such as SAN/NAS and RAID configurations
  • Experience of Backup and disaster recovery methodologies using tools such as NetBackup
  • Hold a level of working knowledge for PowerShell to automate administrative tasks and processes
  • Holds an understanding of hardware management including installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical servers, server racks, cabling, and local power management
  • Experience in Defence or Government highly desirable
  • AGSVA Security Clearance essential
