About the Role

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key member of the QT Canberra team, responsible for ensuring the hotel's facilities and equipment are well-maintained and operational. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, managing work requests, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective maintenance services to all departments, including hands-on work, project management, and coordination of contractors and maintenance staff.
  • Work with hotel management to ensure the continued safety of guests and staff by maintaining fire alarm and detection systems, fire hydrants, and other essential services.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and develop preventative maintenance plans to ensure the hotel's facilities and equipment are well-maintained and operational.
  • Ensure all works are carried out to the highest standards possible while maintaining a safe environment for all stakeholders and property.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience in project management of maintenance and compliance schedules in multi-outlet operations.
  • Experience in project management of various trades and skills, such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
  • A background in 5-star hotel or long stay accommodation is preferable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think logically and resourcefully.
  • Knowledge of safe Work Health & Safety practices.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a professional presence.
