Our comprehensive network spans 2,200 pathology collection centres, 102 laboratories, 145 imaging sites, and 15 day hospitals, employing close to 12,000 professionals across Australia.

As the national genomics laboratory, we provide cutting-edge genomic testing covering reproductive health, inherited disease, pharmacogenomics, oncology, and relationship testing to public and private hospitals and community referrers nationwide.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing fortnightly quality and risk reports to the Operations Manager
  • Producing summary reports of key quality and risk performance indicators
  • Leading quality and risk components of all projects
  • Supervising laboratory accreditation
  • Coordinating audits conducted by external bodies
  • Documenting internal audits
  • Responding to feedback from internal and external audits

To excel as Quality and Risk Manager, you should possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science
  • Leadership-level experience in implementing quality management systems and risk management processes
  • Previous employment in a health service or scientific laboratory
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance, laboratory risk management, and quality improvement concepts
  • Extensive working knowledge of medical testing laboratory accreditation requirements and standards
