Quantitative Market Risk Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Quantitative Market Risk Specialist to join our Global Market Risk team in Sydney. This key role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, developing and maintaining market risk models, and enhancing existing models to meet the dynamic requirements of Market Risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining advanced market risk models, including regulatory capital models for Traded Market Risk and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements
  • Designing and implementing new models to address emerging Market Risk challenges
  • Enhancing existing models to improve their accuracy and effectiveness
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of quantitative finance principles and techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient programming skills in multiple languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
  • Tertiary qualification in finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline
About the Role:

This is an opportunity to work as an independent, centralized function within a global financial services group. Our Risk Management Group is responsible for reviewing, challenging, and monitoring material risks across Macquarie's operations.
