Job Summary

The role of a Sports Coordinator at a Sydney-based educational institution is to lead a team of sports coaches within a successful sports program.

This position requires an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to lead various activities and team sports for students in Years K–12.

About the Role
  • Lead fitness training sessions for Senior School athletes as part of the Strength & Conditioning team, promoting student engagement and physical well-being.
  • Manage representative pathways, athlete education, and athlete support to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Sports Department to deliver and attend sports carnivals and events, enhancing school spirit and community involvement.
  • Organize and manage the Duke of Edinburgh camps, providing students with opportunities for personal growth and development.
Requirements and Qualifications

A strong background in Water Polo and Strength and Conditioning is required, along with a Level 1 ASCA qualification (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Willingness to work across various sports (Netball, Basketball, Touch Football, Badminton, Volleyball), demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
  • Previous experience in schools is highly beneficial, highlighting the importance of transferable skills.
  • Understanding of IGSA and IPSHA representative sports pathways is highly beneficial, showcasing knowledge of relevant sports organizations.
  • Excellent organisational, administration, time management, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to organise sports programs, trials, training, and games, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Availability to work outside regular school hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, Saturdays, and during non-term time and sports trips/tours, demonstrating a commitment to the role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in sport or related discipline, and/or equivalent industry experience, providing a solid foundation for the position.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
