About the Role

PCCW Global, a leading international communications service provider, seeks a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our globally distributed team. In this role, you will be exposed to the entire product stack and work closely with our team to refine requirements, integrate testing, and develop cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of product components and features, analyzing and decomposing the features, turning wireframes and sketches into working prototypes and translating prototypes into launch-ready code.
  • Develop robust APIs for use in frontend components and backend systems.
  • Complete features and bug fixes using the test-driven development process and participate in code review.
  • Participate in product usability, security, architecture, and documentation reviews.
  • Contribute to Agile SCRUM activities such as daily standup, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.
  • Work closely with our Network Engineers to develop creative solutions and rapid prototypes that take into consideration the technical, organizational, schedule, and business requirements.
  • Develop frontend components that ensure the integrity of the UI throughout the development process.
  • Work closely with our Quality Engineers to conduct usability and accessibility review for products and define usability requirements.
  • Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve code quality and development process efficiency.

  • Be a proactive developer involved in the wider developer community and open-source projects.
  • Have a strong command of modern web technologies, including frontend and backend web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, React, and Node.js.
  • Have experience with relational and no-SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in developing Node.js full-stack applications with a focus on performance and scalability.
  • Have previous experience in accurately estimating and scoping design and development work, accomplishing goals in a cross-functional, multi-cultural team.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems.
