Mental Health Leader Role

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to fill the role of Peer Support Lead at our organization.
The ideal candidate will have lived experience of recovery from mental illness, mental health crisis, or caring for someone living with a mental illness. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and develop trusting relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Peer Support Workers in delivering services that reflect principles of Trauma Informed Care and Recovery Oriented practice.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with guests, focusing on their interests, connections, and capacity to participate in their community.
- Participate in supervision, formally and informally, with the Clinical Service Manager.
- Support the induction and orientation of new staff members as required.
Mandatory Requirements
- Lived experience of mental illness, mental health crisis, or caring for someone living with a mental illness, with demonstrated experience of recovery.
- Experience of the public or private mental health system.
- Current Victorian Working with Children Check.
- Police check (refer to PD) - disclosable outcomes considered.
