Lead Community Partnerships and Social Impact

This dynamic role presents a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change and foster collaboration between diverse groups, leading to improved health and wellbeing outcomes in local communities.

You will oversee the development and implementation of targeted programs addressing critical social issues such as alcohol harm, problem gambling, and community safety. Your expertise in facilitating dialogue and building trust among various stakeholders will be instrumental in driving positive change.

A key aspect of this role is fostering partnerships with local law enforcement, businesses, community organizations, and residents to develop practical solutions to community issues.

The ideal candidate will possess strong professional leadership skills, a genuine commitment to embedding organizational values within teams, and extensive experience in developing and delivering programs focused on community partnerships and empowerment.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion, Community Development, or Crime Prevention, or extensive experience in a specialist field or similar role in Local Government.
  • Demonstrated experience in Local Government or a non-government organization in developing and delivering programs focused on community partnerships and empowerment.
  • Strong professional people leadership skills with a genuine commitment to embedding the organization's values within teams.
  • Proven experience in facilitating dialogue and collaboration between diverse groups, helping to strengthen relationships and build trust.
  • Extensive experience in working collaboratively across sectors and disciplines, fostering partnerships to address the diversity of community needs.
  • Highly developed understanding of community safety and its guiding principles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complexity of social problems that intersect and impact on community health and wellbeing and safety, particularly alcohol harm and problem gambling.
  • Experience and understanding of managing a grant program utilizing best practice guidelines.
  • Proficient in utilizing research to implement evidence-based, data-driven strategies and projects, aiming to enhance community safety and health and wellbeing outcomes.
