Job Title: Senior Finance Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Advisor to join our team at the Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term temporary position available for 12 months with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating asset accounting functions, providing expert advice, and participating in improvement projects led by the asset accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile, review, and validate assets data.
  • Process financial documents, including data entry and processing of asset acquisition, depreciation, revaluations, stocktake/useful life updates, retirement, and impairments.
  • Assist the team with asset stocktakes, useful life review, or other asset accounting tasks as they arise.
  • Provide accurate, timely advice and assistance on operational issues, financial management policies, procedures, standards, and systems.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports using platforms such as Office 365 and SAP.
  • Assist in the ongoing improvement of asset accounting processes, policies, and procedures and their application within the department.
  • Actively participate in and positively contribute to a team environment.
