Teaching Opportunity:

The classroom teacher plays a pivotal role in enhancing student performance and educational outcomes aligned with the school's strategic plan and statewide priorities.

Classroom teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve their knowledge and skills, effectively engaging students and promoting their learning. They contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities, including increasing staff knowledge within their school about student learning and high-quality instruction.

These skilled professionals operate under general direction within clear guidelines following established work practices and documented priorities. They may have responsibility for supervising and training one or more student teachers.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of relevant curriculum, incorporating literacy and numeracy skills into teaching. They will also possess experience in responding to student learning needs, planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, monitoring and assessing student learning, and providing feedback on student growth and achievement to students and parents.

Interpersonal and communication skills are essential for establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement.

A strong understanding of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students' needs is required, including supporting their integration in all areas of schooling. The ability to interpret in the classroom and have communication level skills in Auslan and written English is also necessary.
