As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, ward-based clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients in line with departmental guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services: Provide comprehensive medication management, including dispensing medications, providing counseling, and maintaining accurate prescription records.
  • Supervise technical staff: Ensure that technical staff are supervised in accordance with the NT Medicines, Poisons, and Therapeutic Goods Act.
  • Monitor drug usage: Implement relevant policies within the Top End Health Service to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives: Promote best practices in medication management and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical knowledge through ongoing professional development, including memberships and relevant courses.

Requirements:

  • AHPRA Registration: Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  • Experience: At least one year of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting or equivalent.
  • Compliance: Must hold a Working with Children Card (NT) and a current National Criminal History Check.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with diverse cultures.
  • Problem Solving: Strong ability to think laterally and solve complex problems independently.
  • Previous Hospital Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting.
