Head of Cyber Security

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Cyber Security Director to join our team at RACWA. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our cyber security strategy, ensuring the protection of our assets, systems, and data.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic leadership and direction to our cyber security team, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
- Cyber Security Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive cyber security strategy that aligns with our business goals and objectives.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry frameworks, and identify and mitigate potential risks to our organization.
- Team Management: Oversee the daily operations of our cyber security team, including monitoring security events and managing security tools and technologies.
- Cyber Security Awareness: Foster a culture of cyber security awareness across our organization, providing regular training and education to employees at all levels.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to identify and prioritize technology security needs, and communicate cyber security priorities and performance metrics to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Experience: Extensive experience in a cyber security leadership role within a large, member/customer-centric organization.
- Expertise: Significant expertise in IT cyber security design, development, and implementation, with a strong emphasis on cloud-native architecture and layered defence strategy.
- Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train team members and peers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
- Communication: Proficient in translating complex technical terminology and concepts into understandable terms for both technical and non-technical management, executives, and staff.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of modern enterprise technologies, IT architecture, and contemporary IT engineering practices.
- Security Infrastructure: Strong working knowledge of security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), endpoint protection, SIEM, and log management technologies.
- Security Principles: Thorough understanding of information security principles, including risk assessment, incident response, and threat assessment.
- Regulatory Requirements: Extensive knowledge of security-related regulatory requirements and frameworks, such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, APRA, and PCI DSS.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory.
- Certifications: Microsoft and Cyber Security Certifications (including CISSP) are highly regarded.
