Job Title: General Counsel
This role presents an exceptional opportunity to lead our legal and management team, overseeing the delivery of high-quality legal services, advice, and recommendations that align with legislation and government policy.
The successful candidate will provide counsel to senior leaders on various legal, operational, and policy issues, leveraging expertise in legal services, resource management, and high-level analysis to drive efficient and consistent processes.
A key aspect of this role is mentoring and supporting legal staff, fostering a high-performance culture that excels at professional growth. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring alignment between our legal and business services;
- Overseeing litigation practice, particularly child protection applications;
- Directing consultation, research, analysis, and review of legislation and points of law;
- Representing the organization at senior levels on committees and forums;
- Managing in-house training and development programs;
- Overseeing screening and assessment functions.
To succeed in this position, you must have extensive experience in managing legal services across various acts and areas of law. A strong understanding of financial and physical resource management, as well as high-level analytical and communication skills, is also essential.
Eligibility for admission to practice Law in Western Australia is required, along with a Bachelor of Laws Degree or approved equivalent.
