Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Position

This position involves the maintenance and repair of heavy military vehicles. It is connected to a defence contract that requires conducting technical inspections and classifications.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance tasks including technical inspection and classification are key aspects of this role.
- The incumbent will be responsible for repairing or replacing worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
- Reassembling, testing, cleaning and adjusting repaired or replaced parts is also a crucial part of the job.
- Minor body repairs and minor trim repairs are additional responsibilities of the Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
- Testing and repairing electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection are further key tasks.
- Inspecting vehicles and issuing road worthiness certificates are essential duties.
- A Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent qualification is required.
- The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in inspecting, repairing and maintaining light, medium and heavy vehicles.
- A current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License is necessary.
- The individual must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
