Electrical Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to provide daily engineering support for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in construction or sustaining capital works including electrical and instrumentation installation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Understanding project scope and technical requirements;
  • Coordinating procurement and construction activities for designated work areas;
  • Providing engineering support and guidance to the project team;
  • Developing work packs, test packs, and estimate site variations;
  • Managing project timelines, ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget;
  • Performing regular audits and tests on materials and processes for compliance with regulations;
  • Developing and monitoring KPIs, analysing productivity factors;
  • Interacting with clients to interpret and execute their engineering requirements;
  • Collaborating with other departments to integrate project efforts;
  • Ensuring field variations are captured and reported on;

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar);
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or sustaining capital works including electrical and instrumentation installation;
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards and electrical safety standards;
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modelling/drawing software;
  • Experience in construction estimating and cost controlling;
  • Contractor-side experience in E&I construction projects;
  • Knowledge of mining processing and equipment;
