About the Role
Mater Private Hospital Mackay is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse/Midwife to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a modern 105-bed facility, providing family-centred midwifery care in collaboration with other health professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care by applying nursing and midwifery clinical skills and contemporary knowledge to support optimal care outcomes.
- Partner with patients and their support persons throughout the pregnancy and birth continuum to provide woman-centred maternity care.
- Undertake comprehensive ante and postnatal assessments and develop care plans that meet the patient's physical, psychological, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Determine and monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout hospitalization and communicate effectively with other health professionals to ensure safe and high standards of care.
- Undertake comprehensive discharge planning to ensure patients and their support persons receive adequate support and resources.
Requirements
- Current dual registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Midwife and Registered Nurse.
- Currency of neonatal resuscitation and K2 Perinatal Training through an approved provider.
- Other postgraduate qualifications in relevant nursing and midwifery specialties or working towards (e.g., lactation consultant).
- Minimum of one year of postgraduate experience, including in birth suites.
- Sponsorship available.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and clinical problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles.
