We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician Assistant to join our team at Penske. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the efficient running of our workshop, ensuring that our trucks are delivered on-time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform tasks assigned to work orders, including fitting after-market accessories and parts, minor repairs and rectifications, quality checking and following work orders to final inspection.
- Assist in the movement of heavy vehicles, collection and correct assignment of parts by use of forklift or company vehicle as required.
- Test parts, accessories and equipment to ensure the work has been completed to the required specification and in line with our quality system.
- Ensure all tools and equipment used in the performance of work is safe to use and stored in a clean and safe manner.
- You have a mechanical aptitude with an interest in the automotive heavy vehicle sector.
- You have previous assembly or similar experience.
- A safety-first approach is critical in this role, so you must be able to maintain a clean and organised workspace at all times.
- You can follow and complete paperwork and have knowledge of quality systems and controls.
- You are focussed and able to complete tasks assigned in a safe, efficient and independent manner.
- You are skilled in the use of hand and power tools and enjoy problem solving.
- You are a team player with a can-do attitude, able to listen, learn and follow directions.
- You are reliable, punctual and take pride in your team's achievements.
