About the Role

At Greencap, we're seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist to join our team. As a key member of our Geotechnical & Tunnels group, you'll contribute to delivering high-profile projects that drive innovation and excellence in the industry.

Job Overview

This Associate Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and develop your skills in geotechnical engineering and design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster relationships with clients and colleagues from proposal preparation to project delivery
  • Undertake and manage geotechnical investigations and design projects, including fieldwork, analysis, and reporting
  • Support dam surveillance, safety inspections, risk assessments, and development of safety management systems
  • Apply interpretation and design skills to contribute to geotechnical projects in the energy transition, mining industry, and transport sector
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery
  • Promote business development through successful project delivery
  • Maintain a safe working culture by identifying and mitigating hazards
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology degree; postgraduate qualifications in a geotechnical related field are highly regarded
  • Significant experience in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology, preferably with local expertise
  • Experience and passion for tailings storage facility and water dam management
  • A proven track record in managing field investigations for geotechnical projects
  • Success in promoting innovation in geotechnical engineering to create value for clients and their projects
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing/reviewing technical reports and client communications
  • Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design, including rock/soil/structure interaction
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Ability to take responsibility for geotechnical design delivery in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Natural talent in promoting a safe working culture

Salary

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $80,000-$120,000 AUD, depending on experience. This figure includes base salary and additional remuneration packages available to qualified candidates.
