We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Environmental Chemist to join our team at SGS in Perth, Australia.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality analytical results for various industries, contributing to environmental protection and sustainable practices. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing and validating critical water and soil samples using advanced analytical instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing and validating critical water and soil samples using ICP, IC, FIA, Discrete Analyzer, GC MS, GC FID, or GC P&T.
  • Operating, optimizing, and maintaining analytical instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Developing, testing, and validating new methods to improve laboratory outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Working collaboratively with experienced scientists in a team-driven lab culture that values knowledge-sharing, continuous learning, and growth.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related discipline with a minimum of four years of commercial laboratory experience.
  • Appropriate experience in operating and maintaining analytical instruments, including ICP, IC, FIA, Discrete Analyzer, GC MS, GC FID, or GC P&T.
  • Previous management-authorized signatory experience and a demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety.
  • Experience with NATA/ISO 17025 accreditation and the requirements for a chemical testing laboratory.
