We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Senior Project Buyer. This role will focus on supporting our Signalling and Infrastructure projects across the ANZ region. You will be part of a dynamic team based in a flexible work environment.

This position is a fixed-term opportunity within the Procurement team, dedicated to one of Alstom's significant signalling initiatives. You will collaborate closely with project teams to facilitate procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive negotiations and engage stakeholders to communicate essential updates and information.
  • Prepare and initiate Requests for Quotation with suppliers.
  • Lead project negotiations in accordance with Australian and UK standards.
  • Oversee the evolution of Procurement project QCDT and legal aspects (FAI, Business Award, Product development).
  • Consolidate commodity requirements and inputs.
  • Actively participate in the development of commodity strategies and panels.
  • Foster relationships with global supplier panels.
  • Manage specific supplier relationships, including negotiations and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers.
  • Define Procurement strategies and assist in make-or-buy decisions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar procurement or sourcing role.
  • Strong operational knowledge of rail components or design.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Background in the railway industry or similar industrial projects.
  • Proven experience in managing maintenance projects.
