Job Overview:

The role of Environmental Specialist involves implementing and managing environmental programs at a manufacturing facility. This entails developing strategies to minimize ecological impact and ensuring compliance with regulations.

  • Develop and manage the site's environmental management system in accordance with governing laws and regulations.
  • Lead the development and enforcement of site-specific policies and procedures related to environmental health and safety.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and oversee audits, inspections, and reporting.
  • Monitor adherence to environmental regulations and ensure timely submission of reports and corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Oversee investigations into incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Develop training programs on environmental topics and emergency response protocols.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness initiatives and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental management within the manufacturing sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing environmental programs and policies.
